New York | March 2026 — On the margins of the 70th session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW70) in New York, the Shamsama delegation met with representatives of UN Women to exchange views on the situation of Afghan women and the importance of sustained international engagement in support of their rights and meaningful participation.

During the meeting, the Shamsama delegation highlighted the challenges currently faced by women and girls in Afghanistan and emphasized the need for continued global attention and coordinated efforts to protect their fundamental rights and opportunities.
Both sides discussed the importance of maintaining international solidarity with Afghan women and strengthening initiatives that support their empowerment, leadership, and participation in social, economic, and public life.
