We were deeply honored to have our Executive Director , Suraya Azizi, speak at the launch of the Women’s Peace and Humanitarian Fund (WPHF) Annual Report, alongside a powerful panel of changemakers, 11 member states, and representatives from key partners including UN Women, Australia’s Mission to the UN in Geneva, and Ukraine’s Permanent Mission in Geneva.

In her remarks, Suraya amplified the voices of Afghan women who continue to fight for survival, dignity, and justice under the harshest conditions. She reminded the international community:
“We are not invisible. We are leading change.”

This moment was a powerful recognition of the resilience and leadership of Afghan women and a testament to Shahmama’s ongoing mission: to ensure that Afghan women are not only seen and heard—but also supported, protected, and included in peacebuilding and decision-making at every level.
