New York | March 2026 — On the margins of the 70th session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW70) in New York, the Shamsama delegation met with Spain’s Ambassador for Feminist Foreign Policy to discuss continued support for Afghan women and the role of international mechanisms in advancing accountability for violations of their rights.
During the meeting, the Shamsama delegation highlighted the ongoing challenges faced by women and girls in Afghanistan and emphasized the importance of sustained international engagement to support their fundamental rights and freedoms.

The discussion also focused on the role of international and multilateral mechanisms in promoting accountability and ensuring that the rights of Afghan women remain a priority on the global agenda.
The Shamsama delegation expressed appreciation for Spain’s principled and continued support for the rights of women and girls in Afghanistan and reaffirmed its commitment to advocating for justice, equality, and meaningful participation of Afghan women in all aspects of society.
